I have read that the Word of God is meant to be heard. I believe so. It's ok to read the Word of God as we need to really be very well verse with it, but try listening to it sometimes, it's a whole new experience. It gives you a different perspective, it's like looking at something at another angle. And although you have read a verse a thousand times it feels different listening to it.
In this day and age that people are so busy that we can't find time or can't afford to sit, relax and read a book. Gone were the days were your mom or dad read to you before going to bed, well now you can listen to it again through an audio book.
Listening to the scriptures help me to meditate on the word more, understanding it better, absorbing it in to my system easily. Maybe because reading is a less complicated activity than reading. Try it with Psalm 23.
